Dear St. Paul Parents,
I hope everyone is doing well. I have been busy here at school trying to wrap up the school year and trying to prepare for next year. Both of these tasks have not been easy. The task of trying to put closure to the 2019/2020 school year has been hard to do, as there were so many things that we, as a school, were not able to finish or do. The hardest thing for me is that I wasn’t able to say “Goodbye, have a good summer” to most of the St. Paul students and their families.
The last few days, the teachers and staff have been in to sign contracts, so I was able to finish one big task.
I also have worked on a tentative calendar for the 2020/2021 school year (see attached calendar). If there are any changes in the calendar, I will keep you posted.
The Academic and Health/Safety Plans are being reviewed and should be available within the next few weeks. I will share those with you as we move forward.
There will not be a Summer Reading List. Each of the students received a Summer Skills Book. Please have your child work on the workbook as their Summer Work.
I will be working from home next week and will be reading through the 63 Page document: MI Safe Schools: Michigan’s 2020-21 Return to School Roadmap from Governor Gretchen Whitmer…This was not on my Summer Reading List!
The school building will be closed the month of July for our Summer Deep Cleaning. I will be here in the school working. If you have any questions, you may leave a voicemail on the school phone (313) 885-3430 or email me at
tforsythe@stpaulonthelake.org. There is A LOT of planning and changes that need to be done to meet the requirements to open up our school in the fall. So, if you call or email, I will try my hardest to get back to you ASAP.
Have a Fun and Safe Fourth of July!
Many Happy Blessings,
Mrs. Forsythe
Calendar for 2020/2021 School Year
- See Attached Tentative Calendar.
Health and Safety Plan for 2020/2021
- The AOD is finalizing a Health and Safety Plan. When Mrs. Forsythe receives it, she will review it and share that with you.
Mentor Families
- Your help is needed to support the growing number of new families registered at St. Paul! Each of the new families will be paired up with a current St. Paul Mentor Family who has children in the same grade/approximately the same age. Mentor families act as a first year “buddy” to new families. If you are able to volunteer as a mentor family, please email Mrs. Coldicott at ecoldicott@stpaulonthelake.org
School Supply Lists
- The 2020-2021 School Supply Lists are attached. They are sorted by grade.
Uniforms
- Due to COVID and the financial effects that it has had on many of our families, the administration has decided to have the 2020/2021 School Year a Transition Year for the school uniforms. There are some items that will remain the same as in past years and other items that will be new items. Please see the new outline and pictures that are attached. Only the items that are in the descriptions and pictures are allowed.
